Underground Network Cables Too Close to Erwin Quad Underground Infrastructure Project

The damaged cable has been drawn into the basement of Erwin with slack found in a manhole and repaired.

Additional maintenance caused by this will be necessary later in the summer but at this time all services have been restored.

We have internet and telephone cables buried in the ground at the north end of Erwin Hall which are too close to where the underground infrastructure project work is happening. To address this, our cables are being exposed, lifted out of the ground, moved, and reburied a few feet away from their original location. This work should not be disruptive to the campus.
